Please join us on our journey to bring home our son, William Andrew Graham.

William Andrew Graham was born on August 8, 2006. His name given at birth was Ivan Vladimirovich Bychkov. He was born at 29 weeks in a local hospital in Novokuznetsk, Russia. His mother abandoned him at the hospital and has not been heard from since. At birth he weighed a little over 2 pounds and was 43 cm long. He came to the orphanage in Novokuznetsk in October of 2006. To our knowledge, he is a healthy 2 year old with some mild psycho-speech delays. We now begin our journey to bring home our son who will be known as Drew.

Update Day 19

I don't even know where to start! Today was a wonderful day! We picked Drew up from the orphanage about 4 pm. He acted like a different kid as soon as we left the orphanage! He did great the whole 3 hour ride back to Kemerovo. He didn't get sick, didn't cry, and didn't even fuss. He played the whole time with the toys I had brought him and his seat belt. When we got back to the hotel, we came up to the room to let him use the bathroom. Then we decided to go down to the cafe next to our hotel. He ate spaghetti and LOVED IT! We had to stop him from eating but we didn't want to feed him to much. He did great at the cafe! He did run straight into the glass doors on the way out, it was pretty hilarious!! Right now it is 11 pm here. He is laing in his bed looking at me like, what is going on here? He has his stuffed animal from the orphanage that they let him bring with him. He loved his bath, but did not like to have his teeth brushed!! Tomorrow we are going to take him to the park if it is good weather. We fly out early Wednesday morning to Moscow. Please pray for us and him on the 4 hour plane ride back to Moscow! Thanks for all your prayers and please keep them coming! Only 9 more days to go!!
Love Tim and Laura

  3. I am sooooo happy for you!! I am glad things are going so good. As for the plane ride, it will give you a good idea of how he will do on the one coming home. The only advice for the plane is to have snacks and toys for him. It will be an adventure for him. If he like the car, he will probably like the plane, but keep a bag handy just in case. Remember, the plane is nasty!! Especially if you have to take him to the bathroom. When you go to the Embassy in Moscow and get a packet of information you will be so happy b/c it is the "official" paperwork to get him into the USA. Protect it with your life and do not let it out of your site. Oksana should tell you all this. Also, when you talk to the guy at the Embassy, don't be afraid to ask him questions, they are nice, remember, they are AMERICAN!!! It feels good to be on American Soil there! When you get back to Moscow make sure you go and get your picture made at the cathedral!! Also, old arabat street has GREAT gifts for people at home, especially A.P.
I am sooooo happy that you have your son!! He looks great and the pictures are great! If you have any questions about Moscow, let me know. We were in Moscow for the main part of our trip. Oh, you will also go see the AMerican Dr., Cooper HATED it!! But he was also a baby. This dr. has the most goofy eyes, you have to take a picture! Take hand sanitizer with you! Like most stuff in moscow, it isn't that clean. The dr. will say a whole bunch of stuff, don't worry, just take him to the dr. when you get home and go from there. Congratulations and keep us posted!!
